JGR’s engine problems and 100 extra miles.
How concerned are you guys with Joe Gibbs Racing’s continued engine problems for this week’s 600 miler? I had Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch dead even as my second A List driver, but used the possibility of engine issues as my tiebreaker to keep Busch off.

I think we’ll see each of them, and Logano, be very cautious and run a small amount of laps in all the practices. I’m not as concerned about the engine with Kyle as I am with the clunker he’s bringing this week. In four races, this car’s best finish is ninth with a 32nd, 33rd in 2010. He ran decent at Texas this year with it, but still finished 16th.

Yeah, Kyle was off all week at Texas. They had real issues getting that car to handle in that week’s practice sessions as well.

In terms of engine durability my predictor for this is momentum (bad luck). I’ve got Logano penciled in for a engine related DNF..
